What to Expect
Jikiden Reiki is a hands-on method of healing applied through light non-intrusive touch.
As a Jikiden Reiki practitioner, I do not rely on pre-set hand positions. Instead, treatment is focused on areas of the body that have accumulated toxins (byosen), as I have been trained to develop sensitivity in my hands to locate problem areas.
A Reiki session (Chiryo) lasts anywhere from 30-90 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on your needs. After a short consultation, you’ll remove your shoes and rest fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table with soft lighting and relaxing music. I will gently place my hands on specific areas of the body, starting with the head.
I will move on to affected areas throughout the body as needed, being careful to avoid areas which may be sensitive to touch. As with all Jikiden Reiki practitioners, I am also trained to perform sessions from a distance (Enkaku Chiryo), should there be a need to avoid hands-on touch, or if travel and time-of-day prove difficult.
The experience of a Reiki treatment is completely individual; however, my clients typically report feelings of deep relaxation, lightness, stillness of the mind, warmth, clarity, balancing of emotions, decreased pain and an overall feeling of restored wellness.
